Last year, Rochester Colonial’s HeartWood Fine Window and Doors division was contacted by Todd Germann Design in Brooklyn, NY to help design and create a unique storefront concept for a new restaurant in Astoria, Queens. The goal was to utilize HeartWood’s new patent-pending FoldUp™ windows to create a feel of openness between the dining area and the outdoors. HeartWood ended up manufacturing 4 FoldUps™, 5 transom windows, and two doors all made of solid Spanish Cedar. Patrons enjoy the open air feeling provided by the FoldUps™, and also that they can be easily closed for individualized comfort without seating disruption.
