We kicked off the summer by sweeping the Rochester Business Journal Reader Rankings (or at least, we think we swept)! We were honored with two first-place awards:

• Best Home Contractor/Repair/Remodeling Company
• Best Overall Company to Work For (76-250 Employees)

Our employees are what make us who we are, and their dedication, collaboration, and support are what have enabled us to build the positive culture we have here at Rochester Colonial. We couldn’t be more humbled and proud of our team – this one is for them!

You know it’s not like us to get complacent after a win. We pride ourselves on being the Window and Door Experts, and that means keeping our knowledge up to date so we can put our money where our mouth is and best serve the greater Rochester area. We welcomed our friends from Sierra Pacific Windows for a day full of practical training for our entire staff. From getting our sales staff up to speed on product knowledge, to ensuring that our team of installers is current and confident about the latest and greatest installation techniques.

This summer was a scorcher! When temperatures peaked, we found the sweetest way to help our team beat the heat: ice cream afternoons featuring LuGia’s Ice Cream and DIY sundae socials. With plenty of flavors, toppings, and time to step away from the day’s work, these cool-down breaks gave everyone a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy some well-deserved fun together.

Remember all that fresh knowledge we acquired over the summer? Well, we put it to the test with a staggering number of impressive projects that kept our installers busy all season long. From sprawling homes full of replacement windows, to three season rooms, to installing awnings to keep your yards summer-ready, we stayed on our game, and our team of installers delivered like they always do!

We started the season with a new construction project that involved upgrading this homeowner’s original awning window setup. Our expert technicians carefully cut back the existing opening to accommodate the larger window, leaving the brick undisturbed. The existing setup was replaced by two H3 slider windows from Sierra Pacific Windows mulled together. The sliders will provide improved ventilation and sight lines, the bronze exterior blending beautifully with the brick and elevating curb appeal. It’s a window that will hold its beauty for a lifetime.

While our installers were out and about putting in work, they still made time to get to the lake! We swapped this lake house’s aging windows with new construction style windows from Infinity by Marvin. Fiberglass is tough enough to hold up to lake effect winds but will still catch eyes from across the water, maximizing on performance with no need to sacrifice aesthetics.

We spent much of the summer fostering relationships with our partners, and the annual Colonial Cup Golf Tournament was the perfect way to showcase our appreciation for the builders, architects, and fellow window experts in our community. This year we hosted over 140 golfers! Over 36 teams of builders, designers, architects, vendors, friends and family made a beautiful day of celebrating community and building relationships a resounding success.

Finally, the Rochester Home Builders’ Association recognized our very own Steve Trotta for his 23 years of dedicated service as an executive board member. His leadership, expertise, and commitment have made a lasting impact on our industry and community, and his experience continues to make him an invaluable member of the Rochester Colonial team. Congratulations, Steve, on this well-deserved recognition!

As we close the book on another memorable summer, we’re grateful for the accomplishments, partnerships, and shared moments that made the season so special. None of it would have been possible without the dedication of our employees, the trust of our customers, and the continued support of our partners throughout the Rochester community. We’re proud of everything we achieved together, and we’re carrying that same energy, expertise, and commitment into the seasons ahead. We can’t wait to see what fall will bring.
