Rochester Colonial is a family owned business that is now three generations strong. Started in 1947 as a two-person storm window manufacturer, the company was purchased by Salvatore “Sam” Gionta in 1960 and has been owned by the Gionta family since.

Sam, with the help of his wife Niki, worked tirelessly and soon brought on Sam’s brother Vince and sister Rose. From that small nucleus the company continued to grow and in the late 70s and early 80s the second generation came on board: Mark, Paul, Steve, Michael, Phil and Sam (“Sammy”). The new century welcomed the third generation: Chris, Marissa, Morgan and Adam.

Sam had a simple philosophy about family business: every family member starts at the bottom. That means sweeping floors, cleaning bathrooms, unloading trucks, doing the most basic clerical work, etc.  A college degree earned you no favors or exemptions.

Sadly, in 2014 Sam passed away (as had his sister Rose a decade earlier) and the window and door industry lost one of its giants. However, the eleven Giontas that work at Rochester Colonial have embraced and continued Sam’s commitment to quality, integrity, and innovation.

As a third generation family-owned business Rochester Colonial has deep roots in the community. We are your neighbors and friends, and we feel a personal bond with our customers. We will do everything we can to make your experience with us an outstanding one, and if it isn’t we will do everything we can to make it right.
